Chocolate Cake Brownie

Chocolate Cake Brownie

{This is a repost from my previous blog: This is a very moist and chocolaty brownie recipe that everyone in my family loves! Hope you enjoy it too!}

I was craving something sweet and so was my three year old. He loves it when I bake… I haven’t done that in so long so he was so excited when I told him I was making brownies. As soon as I poured the brownie batter into a baking dish, he went for the bowl that had a little bit of leftover batter and yes, he licked the bowl clean.

I love nice, warm homemade brownies… brownies that are made from scratch. These brownies are chewy and caky – rich with chocolate (but not heavy). If you like to add nuts to your brownies, go ahead. I like to add pecans, sometimes even almonds or walnuts. Today, I added some chopped almonds and I really liked it.

Chocolate Brownie Cake

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅔ cup chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup pecans or almonds or walnuts (or your favorite nuts)
  • 2 tablespoons milk

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch round or square pan.
  2. Melt the butter over low heat. Pour into large mixing bowl and stir in cocoa powder, sugar, salt, flour, and vanilla. Mix in eggs, chocolate chips, nuts, and milk. Spread the dough evenly into the cake pan.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10-15 minutes before cutting.
