{Copycat} Orange Dream Machine

I have an announcement to make… Drum roll please…..

Yes! Yesterday, I made a big purchase from Costco! I got a Vitamix! I’ve been wanting this for a long time now and I always postponed it thinking it’s just too expensive. I’ve been saving some money and when I heard that Costco was selling it again, I decided that it was time to get it.

And this is the very first smoothie I made with it! I. Love. Jamba. Juice. Jamba Juice is very popular in California and we’ve been going there quite often this Summer. My favorite thing there is Orange Dream Machine. It’s very orangy and so delicious! As soon as I got the Vitamix, I searched for a copycat recipe for Jamba’s orange dream machine.

This recipe is really similar to the original recipe, if not the same. But I’m not going to say that this IS the Jamba Juice recipe, because it probably isn’t. But I was content with the result!

I actually really like the icy texture from Jamba Juice so I added a little extra ice to my smoothie. Add ice according to your preference and appetite.

So now, as you can see, my Vitamix blended the smoothie very smoothly and nicely. And… YES! I LOVE MY VITAMIX! Expect to see lots of smoothie recipes in the future, because I’m totally making smoothie as often as I can. This is really my very first “blender” purchase so I am not sure what other blenders work well for smoothie, but if you do have a blender that works well, try and make it in it. So good!

You need a few ingredients to make this smoothie. You will need frozen vanilla yogurt, orange sherbet ice cream, soy milk, orange juice, and some ice.

Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth and creamy. For Vitamix, you will only need to blend for about 20-25 seconds on high.

Ohhhh! I am sure you will make a lot of smoothies from now on. :-) I saw it in costco, but I thought of buying it…but I’m probably too lazy to make, clean, and all that. =P Hm, but this might be helpful for dieting though… :-) Perfect for upcoming warm/hot days here.

Hey Nami! It’s actually really simple and easy to clean it! You just pour some water in the blender and run it for 30 seconds. Rinse it and done! You don’t even need soap! :) I love it!

What a gorgeous smoothie! I still remember the first time I bought a blender, I was in heaven! I think I have never used soy milk in smoothies (actually I only use it in my morning coffee, but every single day…). Thanks for the idea!
