I’ve been so busy lately… and I didn’t post anything yesterday and I feel like I haven’t posted in forever! Things are going to get a little more hectic now that my husband is starting his MBA degree every Monday and Tuesday starting next week… I’m getting a little nervous but I know everything will be alright. I’ve been planning a lot of craft activities for them for those days my husband is gone. Hope we survive the next three years!
I’ve been wanting to share this delicious smoothie recipe for some time now but I just never got around to it so here it is. A delicious, fruity, and healthy smoothie recipe for ya. I’d always heard good things about using wheatgrass in smoothies. Wheatgrass is a very healthy green that you can use in smoothies. I love green smoothies so as soon as I heard about using wheatgrass in a smoothie, I knew I had to try it.
I usually add spinach to my green smoothie (here is the recipe that I always make whenever I feel like a little healthy boost) but I added wheatgrass instead. As you can see the color of wheatgrass smoothie is like neon green. So pretty. Spinach smoothie is usually dark green, still pretty, but this wheatgrass is just such a beautiful color!
In case you didn’t know already, this is what wheatgrass looks like. I didn’t know what wheatgrass was until just a few years ago… so I don’t blame you if you had no idea what wheatgrass even looked like… Yeah, you can eat it. It’s considered food. If you ever wondered what on earth you could use wheatgrass for, this is it. Make a smoothie. Healthy and very good for you. I added some light colored fruits such as green grapes, peaches, and some pineapples. Mixed with some soy milk, and there’s your healthy booster wheatgrass smoothie!
- ½ cup green grapes
- ¼ cup wheatgrass, torn
- ½ cup frozen peach slices
- ½ cup pineapple slices
- ¼ cup ice
- ½ cup soy milk (use more as needed)
- In blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
