Who’s a big fan of watermelon?
Me! Me!
Watermelon is like the ultimate Summer fruit in Korea and I remember my mom and dad bringing a watermelon home every other day. Korean watermelons are a perfect round shape most of the time so I was a bit thrown off when I saw American watermelons for the first time at grocery stores. Korean ones are usually smaller in size and I think the colors are brighter, too. Greener and the stripes are pitch black. In my opinion, Korean watermelons are sweeter, too.

Anyway, I went to a Korean market a couple of weeks ago and found some Korean watermelons there! I got one for $1.75. What a deal, right? Whenever I go grocery shopping, I get frustrated because watermelons are outrageously priced right now. So I was happy to get a sweet watermelon for under $2.

I had never made nor had I tried a watermelon smoothie before. I was pleasantly surprised by it, actually. Since I love watermelon, why not put it in a smoothie, too, right? I actually enjoyed the combination of watermelon and lime together. It was quite refreshing.

As you can see in the pictures, the top of the smoothie was foamy and bubbly. That was probably my favorite thing about this smoothie. It is a really pretty drink that I felt like I’d ordered it off the menu at a fancy restaurant.

And the recipe is super simple, too. I added some Korean melon but you can skip it if you don’t have any.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend! Easy!
- 4 cups watermelon, seeded (buy seedless watermelon)
- ½ Korean melon, peeled and seeded (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 4 ice cubes
- Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth and foamy.

I definitely enjoy eating watermelons during hot summer days! Now, this smoothie seems like another great way to enjoy watermelons!
I used to not like watermelon that much. I don’t know why – I just didn’t like the lukewarm watermelon. Then one day I tried watermelon juice and completely got hooked. This looks so goooood. I can drink this three times a day. =D
Simple but divine…You made me thristy, Sook!!!
